About Me

I’m Jenna Platt

You might know me from my sandwich board walks across the UK, where I stood for informed, voluntary consent during a time around 2020—when propaganda, division, and coercion had taken hold, and many were struggling to have their voices heard amid censorship and groupthink.

My journey has taken me all across the UK, social media backlash, personal reflections and changes, and now, back to the microphone—relaunching my podcast with a fresh perspective.

A New Focus

Spotting Manipulation in Daily Conversations

After a period of recovery from my campaigning and ill health, I’m returning with a clearer idea of what I want to talk about.

My work has always been about communication—how we speak, how we listen, how we process the unspoken dynamics. This time, I’m reacting from media examples of something that we all encounter but don’t always recognise: manipulation.

Through media, films, TV series, and real-life interviews, I’ll be breaking down the tactics used to shape narratives, control conversations, and influence people—often without them realising it.

Whether it’s a workplace power play, a viral social media trend, or a storyline designed to make you think a certain way, I want to help people spot the patterns, question what they’re being told, and reduce the negative impact on themselves.

Writing My First Book

This year, I’m also writing a book that is due for release in December 2025. It’s about finding the confidence to speak out, understanding the risks, and learning how to minimise the fallout when you challenge the status quo.

While the book draws from my experiences in nursing, the themes go far beyond healthcare—because the fear of speaking up, the risk of group rejection, and the pressure to stay silent exist in every industry and social space.

My goal is to help people process these situations with clarity, strength, and as little collateral damage as possible.

It won’t make you popular and isn’t a book about building relationships but recognising the ones that you need to review your role in.

Studying Transactional Analysis

Alongside writing, I’m also working on my Master’s in Transactional Analysis (TA), a powerful framework for understanding human behaviour, communication, and power dynamics. TA has given me a whole new lens through which to analyze interactions

This can be conversations between family, colleagues, a public debate, or the way media messages subtly (and sometimes not so subtly)  influence us.

This will form a large part of my podcast as I break down manipulation tactics, what they might be getting from it, and how we can protect ourselves without falling into the trap of self-doubt or overthinking.

Why This Matters

I’ve seen first-hand what happens when people feel trapped—when they’re afraid to speak up, unsure of what’s real, or left doubting their own judgment.

I’ve been there, and I know how exhausting it can be. My goal isn’t to make people cynical—it’s to give them the tools to think critically, communicate effectively, and stand their ground with confidence.

So if you’re tired of feeling gaslit, if you’ve ever walked away from a conversation wondering what just happened, or if you simply want to get better at spotting manipulation before it takes hold—this is the place for you.

If you can’t question it, question that!

Just listened to the first intro podcast, ive followed your story since day 1. You are an inspiration. Keep going Jenna you are amazing xx
